Global Special Opportunities Ltd. (GSOL) is a private equity fund with a long-term investment horizon, established in 2009. Our team focuses primarily on real assets in the natural resources, metals and mining, industrial and real estate sectors.

GSOL creates value by identifying, acquiring and improving underperforming and undervalued operations and assets around the world. We are a responsible, long-term owner of assets and seek to create value for all stakeholders and contribute to the success of our host communities.

Following a number of successful acquisitions and investment programmes since 2015 our portfolio companies have become one of the world’s largest nickel producers.

Prior to GSOL, the founding members of the investment team established one of the most successful fund of funds in Europe, managing over US$3bn in assets. Following a successful sale of the business, the team launched GSOL in 2009.

GSOL focused on a diversified range of investments in real estate, natural resources, energy and specialist finance. Today we continue to leverage the expertise of our technical team to successfully deliver operating turnarounds and create significant value from industrial assets.

In the metals and mining sector, we have built an operating team with more than 30 years’ experience of managing mines and metallurgical plants around the world. The team includes commodity experts, metallurgists, mining, mechanical, chemical and electrical engineers and geologists.
